Frequently Asked Questions About Mountain View Charter Bus Rentals

What is included in my bus rental price?

Encompassed in your charter bus price quote are fuel costs, full coverage insurance, processing fees, and a professional driver (and of course your selected bus or buses).

Parking fees, tolls, and overnight lodging for your driver are not included in the price. For every 10 hours of driving, an eight-hour rest stop is required, so for overnight or multi-day trips, you must reserve driver lodging at your hotel.

I have a CDL—can I drive my minibus rental?

No, renters are not permitted to drive any Mountain View bus rental. All our drivers are highly trained, broadly experienced, and fully certified to maximize the safety of your trip behind the wheel of any of our huge variety of bus models.

Is there a minimum rental time?

Yes. The minimum rental period for charter buses and minibuses is five (5) hours..

Can my group eat or drink on the bus?

Yes. You are allowed to bring food and drinks on our charter buses, although glass bottles and messy foods are discouraged. We ask that passengers pick up trash and clean up spills before trip completion. Otherwise, you may be facing a cleaning fee.

Regarding alcohol on board, state laws vary. For instance, in California, a chaperone over the age of 25 must be on board to ensure there is no underage drinking, and has additional duties as well. Affirm in advance with your reservation specialist whether alcoholic beverages are permitted and clarify any regulations that must be followed.

Can I set up a special music playlist for the ride?

Absolutely! Provided your bus has an onboard PA system, you can connect your playlist to it via an AUX cable or Bluetooth. It’s best to check with your transportation specialist when you make your reservation, to assure your bus has this capability and to verify what cables or devices you may need, if any.

Do I have to map out the driving routes?

No. Once you give us your final, detailed itinerary, we map out the best routes and even build in an extra 15 minutes of time to arrive at each destination to account for unforeseen traffic delays and loading and unloading time.

Will my driver expect a gratuity?

Gratuities for a job well done are always appreciated, but it isn’t obligatory. You should bring from 5% to 10% of your rental cost in cash, so you have a suitable amount ready for your driver at trip’s end.

How do I arrange a shuttle bus service for my employees on a regular basis?
